Shri Puran radio group launches in Agra with RCS products
Mumbai, 9 July 2007– Just as the Taj Mahal is selected overwhelmingly to be one of the New Seven Wonders of the World, the city of Agra witnesses its very first commercial radio broadcast. Radio Mantra, the radio venture of the publishers of the Hindi daily, “Dainik Jagranâ€, started emanating its FM signal on 8th July in the city of the world famous monument. And just as in the sites of the previous Radio Mantra launches, the Jagran Group chose RCS products for the central parts of its operation.
NexGen is the playout system of choice for Radio Mantra, making sure that the stations have a continuous, strong on-air presence. The scheduling and billing of the stations' commercial content is handled by Airwaves, the RCS Traffic software that is proving its capabilities in more than one thousand radio stations worldwide, on a daily basis.
Directly involved in the hard work that went into the preparation for the launch, and the ones that are still to come as well, is the team of RCS India in Mumbai. Says Kanan Bhuta, RCS project coordinator for the Airwaves Traffic aspect of the operation: "With Airwaves, we were able to offer the Jagran Group a centralized structure that allows for flexible scheduling of all commercial content in the local stations, as well as enabling them to handle all the billing, payments processing and contract management in one central location." The spots then, along with all the music content and other program elements, are played out on the air via NexGen Digital, the reliable and cost-efficient, state-of-the-art radio automation system from RCS.
With six stations on the air, the Jagran Group has two more launches to go in the coming weeks, to complete its FM license roster of Radio Mantra in eight cities. All the stations are located in the northern part of India, where "Dainik Jagran" also traditionally has its widest circulation.
